Coaching Built for Lamorinda

Your Routes.
Your Goals.
Your Coach.

The Lamorinda area has some of the best running terrain in the East Bay — rolling hills, open trails, and iconic routes that most coaches have never set foot on. Running Fit Lab builds your coaching around the terrain you actually run, making every session specific to where you train.

Knows Lamorinda Terrain
Lafayette Reservoir, Iron Horse Trail, Shell Ridge, Briones — your training is built around the routes and elevation profiles you actually run, not generic flat-course plans.
In-Person Track Gait Analysis
Francisco watches your real stride on the track — not a phone video. He identifies the form inefficiencies causing your injuries or limiting your speed before they cost you a season.
Weekly Personalized Plans
Every week Francisco emails a customized training plan built around how your body is responding, your schedule, and your goal race. No templates. A living plan that evolves with you.
Strength & Mobility Included
The hills around Lafayette and Orinda demand strong glutes, hip flexors, and ankles. Francisco integrates strength and mobility work that makes your local terrain feel easier — and keeps you injury-free.
RRCA & USATF Certified
15+ years experience, 22 Boston qualifiers trained. Coaching that's backed by certification, rooted in science, and delivered with genuine investment in your progress.

Your Training Grounds

World-Class Terrain
Right Outside Your Door.

The Lamorinda area offers some of the most varied and beautiful running in the Bay Area. Your coaching uses every bit of it with purpose.

Lafayette
Lafayette Reservoir
The reservoir loop offers steady rolling hills perfect for aerobic strength building, tempo work, and long runs. Francisco programs specific workouts around the elevation profile to build the hill strength that translates to every race.
Walnut Creek · Lafayette · Danville
Iron Horse Trail
The flat, paved Iron Horse Trail is ideal for tempo runs, race-pace sessions, long runs, and easy recovery miles. Perfect for practicing goal pace before race day without the variables of road traffic.
Walnut Creek
Shell Ridge Open Space
Rolling single-track trails with sustained climbs that build real strength and endurance. Francisco uses Shell Ridge for hill repeats, trail strength sessions, and long aerobic efforts that develop the engine no flat road can build.
Lafayette · Orinda · Martinez
Briones Regional Park
One of the East Bay's most scenic trail networks. Briones offers longer sustained climbs and technical terrain that builds mental toughness, trail efficiency, and the kind of leg strength you can't fake on race day.
Walnut Creek
Heather Farm Park Track
The local track for speed development sessions — gait analysis, interval training, 400m repeats, and form drills. Where Francisco watches your stride live and builds the mechanical improvements that carry into every run.
Lafayette · Orinda
Neighborhood Routes
Your familiar neighborhood loops have more training value than you think. Francisco maps easy recovery runs, strides, and warm-up miles across the roads you already know — turning everyday runs into purposeful training.

How It Works

Start on the
Track. Train Everywhere.

Every coaching relationship begins with a live gait analysis on the track — then your weekly plan is built around Lamorinda's trails, routes, and your specific goals.

Step 01 · All Athletes
01
In-Person Track Gait Analysis
Francisco watches you run live on the track — not on a screen. He assesses your foot strike, cadence, posture, arm drive, and full-body movement patterns, identifying the form issues that cause shin splints, IT band problems, runner's knee, and plantar fasciitis before they sideline your training. Most coaches can't offer this — we can.
Step 02 · Your Ongoing Program
02
Weekly Personalized Plans
Every week Francisco emails a fully customized training plan built around how your body is responding, your schedule, and your goal race. Plans evolve week by week — no two are the same. Your Lamorinda routes, your local terrain, your specific race. Ongoing support via text, email, and call between sessions.

Step 03 · Optional Add-On
03
Ongoing In-Person Sessions
Beyond the weekly plan, many athletes schedule regular in-person sessions with Francisco — speed work on the track, hill sessions at the Reservoir, or long run support on the Iron Horse Trail. The frequency is up to you. Some athletes do one session a month; others weekly. It's built around your life.

★★★★★
I'd been running the Iron Horse Trail for years with no real improvement. Francisco's gait analysis showed me exactly what I was doing wrong. Within 8 weeks my form was completely different — and so was my pace.

★★★★★
As a busy professional in Orinda, I needed coaching that worked around my schedule — not the other way around. The weekly email plan was perfect. I knew exactly what to do each day and why it mattered.
