Running Class FAQs.

Everything runners ask before joining a Running Fit Lab class — coaching, locations, pricing, and how to know if classes are right for you.

A coached running class is a structured weekly training session led by a certified coach following a specific program — workouts have a stated purpose (speed, endurance, strength), pacing is taught, and form is corrected on the spot. A run club is social: runners show up and run together, usually without coaching. Running Fit Lab offers three coached running classes a week across San Ramon, Pleasanton, Danville, and Livermore.
Running Fit Lab is the coached version of what most people call a run club or running group — group runs with the social energy of a run club, but with a certified coach leading every workout, a real training plan behind every session, and accountability between classes. If you've been looking for a Bay Area running group or run club with actual coaching attached, this is it.
Running Fit Lab holds coached running classes across the Tri-Valley: Monday run conditioning at The Lab in Dublin (6 PM), Wednesday speed development at the San Ramon track (6 AM), and Saturday long runs rotating through Alamo, Danville, Pleasanton, and Livermore. The team welcomes runners from the broader East Bay including Walnut Creek and Lafayette.
No. New runners are welcome at every class. Coaches modify intensity and pacing so every level feels challenged without being overwhelmed. The Saturday long run uses paced groups specifically so first-timers and Boston qualifiers can train alongside each other safely.
Memberships start at $159 per month (12-month commitment), $179 per month (6-month commitment), or $225 per month with no contract. All memberships include unlimited access to all three weekly classes — run conditioning, speed development, and long runs. No drop-in fees.
Yes. Get in touch and we'll walk you through a trial. Many runners also start with a one-time $150 in-person gait analysis — a hands-on look at how Running Fit Lab coaches before you commit to a class membership.
Our head coach is a college-level running coach with 15+ years of coaching experience. We've trained 22 Boston qualifiers and 1,000+ runners total, completed 15+ marathons (including Boston and NYC), and coach runners across the SF Bay Area in person and online nationwide. More about us →
Members train for every distance — 5K, 10K, half marathon, full marathon, trail races, and Boston qualifying times. The marathon training and half marathon training plans use the same three weekly classes (run conditioning, speed development, long runs), with the Saturday long run progressively building toward each runner's goal race.
Yes. The marathon training classes and half marathon training classes are coached group sessions held weekly in San Ramon, Pleasanton, Danville, and Livermore — locally accessible from the entire Tri-Valley. The same training applies whether you're running your first half marathon or chasing a Boston qualifier.
